He already joked about that! :D

So, why is it that Sarah Palin can vacation in Hawaii and no one says anything about Hawaii being "foreign"? But President Obama goes on vacation to the place he always vacations and people say moronic things like this? ](*,)

It's not like he was born in Hawaii or anything................

Forget Palin in Hawaii. WTF about the "optics" of turkeys being dispatched in the frozen foreign-to-most-Americans Alaska?

Finally, a Barack Obama Musical that Gives Sarah Palin a Decent Set of Go-Go Dancers

After London's smallish Obama on My Mind and Kenya's amateurish Obama: The Musical, Germany has finally created a true Barack Obama musical extravaganza, HOPE: Einer Neuen Generation. Palin has skanky back-up dancers and Reverend Wright sings angry gospel.

There are few international phenomena more fascinating to the American eye than foreign cultures' interpretations of us. Obama tends to be the McDonald's franchise of American presidents, positively interpreted to fit local tastes and aspirations. Vegetarian Big Mac : India :: Obama-themed English lessons : Japan.

<snip>

HOPE focuses on the electoral and general elections, in blended English and German. The author/composer is American, as is about half the cast. Their reading of Sarah Palin is at times hysterical, like this number where she gyrates amid a stage of fishnet-wearing go-go girls (tragically, there is no video of this):

<snip>

So, if we are to understand Germany's interpretation of post-Obama America from this, we get multi-culti Sesame Street + skanky Republican sideshows + sexy McPresident with a sterling tenor. This is about the way I think of America, too, so kudos to HOPE. May I suggest its producers focus on an all-Palin project next, a ribald operetta featuring a sultry Levi Johnson boudoir number and narration from a freshly field-dressed moose.

Anybody in Ohio?

Lorain County Community College to Host President Obama on Second Stop on the White House to Main Street Tour

Obama to discuss jobs and the economy with Ohioans on January 22

President Obama will travel to Lorain County in Ohio on Friday, January 22, 2010 for the next stop on the White House to Main Street Tour. He will hold a town hall meeting at Lorain County Community College. Further details are not available at this time. Updated information will be posted on the LCCC homepage as it is finalized.

The town hall meeting will include Ohio workers, local business leaders, small business owners, and local leaders about ideas for continuing to grow the economy and put Americans back to work. President Obama will spend the day in the Lorain County area speaking to Ohioans about the challenges they are facing and their ideas for how we will continue to work together to turn the economy around.

In December, President Obama kicked off the White House to Main Street Tour in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. In an effort to spend some time out of Washington and talk to American families about what they are experiencing during these tough economic times, the President will regularly visit communities across the country over the next several months where he will spend a day with members of the community and share ideas to rebuild our economy for the long term.

Even the President of the United States gets called to Jury Duty.

Obama Skips Jury Duty In Chicago Suburbs

President Barack Obama will be skipping jury duty after being summoned in Illinois.

A White House official said Sunday that the president has alerted the court he won't be able to make it.

Obama was summoned for jury duty at the Bridgeview courthouse in suburban Chicago starting Monday. The summons had arrived at the Obama home on Chicago's South Side.

No way in hell I'd want the President on the jury if I was the accused. :?

That depends! If I was charged with nation-usurping, I would definitely want him there. Same with treason, Communist indoctrinating, illegal immigration and forgery.
The case revolves around the issues of Federal law and US Constitution and there was a complete diversity between the parties and because jurisdiction does not lie solely in the Supreme Court of Georgia under the Georgia Constitution. -Orly Taitz

Obama 'inarticulate'? I know I dwell in some fetid swamps, but people there repeatedly make this claim.

This is a very long transcript Q and A session between Obama and Republicans on something described as a Republican retreat. I don't know how 'planned' these things are - or even whether it's 'normal' for any President to take part in such an event but Obama seemed pretty sparky to me. :D

An excerpt from President Obama's remarks at this morning's Prayer Breakfast:

"Civility also requires relearning how to disagree without being disagreeable," Obama declared before a standing-room-only crowd. "[C]ivility is not a sign of weakness. Now I am the first to confess I am not always right. Michelle will testify to that. But surely, you can question my policies without questioning my faith. Or for that matter, my citizenship."

During his "White House to Main Street" tour today in Savannah Georgia, President Obama makes a surprise lunch stop at the famous Mrs. Wilkes' Boarding House restaurant. Turns out, he prefers wings to drumsticks.

March 02, 2010

Just before giving a speech in Savannah, GA, President Obama chats with building manufacturers and local contractors about the importance of retrofitting. Around the circle are Mark Andrews of Knauf Insulation, Michael Lawrence of Insulation Systems, Howard Feldman of Coastal Green Building Solutions, Patrick Shay of Green Sweep, and Larry Laseter of MASCO Home Services.

Obama's census choice: simply African-American:
WASHINGTON – He may be the world's foremost mixed-race leader, but when it came to the official government head count, President Barack Obama gave only one answer to the question about his ethnic background: African-American.

The White House confirmed on Friday that Obama did not check multiple boxes on his U.S. Census form, or choose the option that allows him to elaborate on his racial heritage. He ticked the box that says "Black, African Am., or Negro."

Maybe Miles Frank Davis is his (other?) father after all.

On the driveway right outside the White House briefing room, a place where President Barack Obama rarely strolls during public hours, CNN caught a rare and personal exchange between the first couple.

Flanked by Secret Service agents and personal aide Reggie Love, Obama spotted his wife near the West Wing entrance and tried to get her attention. "Hey FLOTUS," he shouted, then added, "I was just looking for you." FLOTUS is the acronym for first lady of the United States.

Op-Ed Columnist
No One Is to Blame for Anything
By FRANK RICH
Published: April 10, 2010
excerpts
Surveying America’s moral landscape in his Inaugural Address, Barack Obama called for “a new era of responsibility.” And he has tried to live up to his own creed. “I’m here on television saying I screwed up and that’s part of the era of responsibility,” he said after Tom Daschle withdrew as a cabinet nominee. The president has also taken responsibility for screw-ups ranging from his administration’s tardy discovery of bonuses given to bailed-out bankers at A.I.G. to its failed surveillance of the Christmas Day bomber. Though the president is never shy about attributing a $1.3 trillion annual deficit to his predecessor, he is usually quick to hold himself accountable as well for the $787 billion in deficit spending added by his stimulus package.

Obama has been less forceful in stewarding a new era of responsibility when it comes to adjudicating unresolved misdeeds in the previous White House. “Turn the page” is his style, even if at times to a fault. Many of the Bush national security transgressions, including the manipulation of the case for war, are rapidly receding into history and America’s great memory hole.

The president will not have the luxury of mass amnesia when it comes to the recent economic past. The tax-free Iraq war, as cunningly conceived by the Bush White House, directly affected only those American families whose sons and daughters volunteered to fight it. But the Great Recession has affected nearly everyone. Most of its victims are genuinely innocent bystanders who lost their jobs and savings while financial elites cashed in on the crash.

OBAMA CHEATING SCANDAL: SHOCKING NEW REPORTS

UPDATED: Reports out of Washington, DC: PRESIDENT OBAMA has been caught in a shocking cheating scandal after being caught in a Washington, DC Hotel with a former campaign aide.

<snip>

While Baker has insisted in the past that "nothing happened" between them, reports reveal that top anti-Obama operatives are offering more than $1 million to witnesses to reveal what they know about the alleged hush-hush affair.

Among those being offered money is a limo driver who says in 2004 that he took Vera to a secret hotel rendezvous in where Obama was staying.

An ENQUIRER reporter has confirmed the limo's driver account of the secret 2004 rendezvous.

Hmmmm, the limo driver's account? A hotel rendezvous? Sounds very much like the Larry Sinclair story.

Excellent Commencement speech today by President Obama at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is mostly focusing on how to be a citizen in a participatory democracy. If I find a video of it, I'll post it here. UM is likely to do that if the White House does not.

The stage is full of flags. I don't recall seeing that before. UM is the sort of place that would think of flying the flags of the home countries of each of its 2010 graduates, which is what this may be. Or they may simply be the flags of the schools and colleges of UM. I'll find out.

HuffPost provides no citation to the Washington Post. It cites The Daily Wh.at. I'd like to see evidence that this photo actually appeared in the WaPo, even if only for an instant. A correction would provide that evidence.

Obama Michigan Graduation Speech: FULL TEXT
Posted: 05- 1-10 11:43 AM

Below is the text President Obama's speech at the University of Michigan Commencement, as prepared for delivery.

It is great to be here in the Big House, and may I say "Go Blue!" I thought I'd go for the cheap applause line to start things off.

Good afternoon President Coleman, the Board of Trustees, faculty, parents, family, friends, and the class of 2010. Congratulations on your graduation, and thank you for allowing me the honor to be a part of it. And let me acknowledge your wonderful governor, Jennifer Granholm, your mayor, John Hieftje, and all the Members of Congress who are here with us today.

I am happy to join you all today, and even happier to spend a little time away from Washington. Don't get me wrong - it's a beautiful city. And it sure is nice living above the store; can't beat the commute. It's just that sometimes, all you hear in Washington is the clamor of politics - a noise that can drown out the voices of the people who sent you there. So when I took office, I decided that each night, I would read ten letters out of the thousands sent to us every day by ordinary Americans - a modest effort to remind myself of why I ran in the first place.

Some of these letters tell stories of heartache and struggle. Some express gratitude, and some express anger. Some call me an idiot, which is how you know I'm getting a good sample. And some of the letters make you think, like the one I received last month from a kindergarten class in Virginia.
